In 2011, the Colabora Birmania launched a project aimed at providing economic independence to the orphanage as well as improving the nutrition and education of 62 children currently living at the orphanage.
The Safe-Haven Orphanage cares for 62 Burmese children who do not have families. The center is managed by local staff and funded by donations from various humanitarian organizations as well as sales of Burmese handcrafts produced by women in the community where the orphanage is located.
In order to provide economic Independence to the center and improve the nutrition of the children who live in it, the Colabora Birmania has initiated an agriculture and ranging project at the orphanage.
The project includes the construction of a fish farm, a vegetable garden and a chicken farm at the orphanage. Through the project they have learnt to work in teams and in order to grow vegetables and raise the chickens and fish.
